This program aims to foster local communities of well-being by supporting chapter members, practices, and organizations in addressing burnout and the conditions that create it. The Champions, who are trained ACP members passionate about ensuring the health and well-being of their colleagues, strive to reach this goal through a variety of approaches tailored to the needs of the chapter and its members.
Joy In Medicine Health System Recognition Program
Launched in 2019, this program provides a roadmap for health system leaders to implement programs, policies, and workflow efficiencies that support physician well-being and enhance joy in medicine. It is designed to empower health systems to strategically and systematically reduce burnout so that physicians - and their patients - can thrive.

Physician Health Program
Confidential support for physicians who are struggling with substance use and mental health concerns, as well as with other problematic behaviours. It also offers assistance and education to physician leaders, hospitals, and other worksites, as well as to anyone else who is concerned about a loved one or colleague.
Physician Health Program
Provides assistance to physicians, medical learners, and their families who may be struggling with various issues (mental health, substance use, relationships, etc.). It offers assessment and treatment, education, counselling and coaching, monitoring, and advocacy to help physicians engage in effective medical practice.

Locum Protocols
Ensure that dentists who must withdraw from practice to undergo treatment for mental health or addiction reasons keep their practice viable in their absence (see p. 7).
Future Insurability Policy
For dentists, the process of returning to work after treatment for mental health or addiction problems can be extremely challenging. There is a need for a policy to address and protect the future insurability of the dentist for short- or long-term disability once they have undergone rehabilitation (see p. 7).
