How to Use this Toolkit:
Welcome to the Healthy Professional Worker toolkit. This research project examined the gendered nature of mental health issues, leaves of absence and return to work experiences of professional workers. We interviewed and surveyed 6 different professions including Academia, Dentistry, Education, Medicine, Midwifery, and Nursing. Each profession has a collection of curated resources to help professionals deal with mental health issues such as workload management, conflict, bullying & harassment, discrimination and addressing stigma and disclosure. During the curation process we listened to what professionals had to say while also searching grey and academic literature for high quality evidence based resources.
Whether you’re an educator, administrator, professor, dentist, physician, midwife, or nurse there is something here for you. You’ll notice a filtering option on the left hand side where you can search by format, location, cost, or language. There are articles, websites, podcasts, and programs depending on what your needs are. We want to create a community of support for professional workers so if you try a resource and like it feel free to click on the logo and you can leave a comment for others to read. You can get in touch with us by emailing HPW@uOttawa.ca or follow us on Twitter or Facebook @profhealthy
Thanks so much for visiting.
