Preventing bullying and harassment

Developing strategies that prevent bullying and harassment of medical students and trainees can improve their mental health and shift the culture of medical profession. Offering harassment surveys will enable trainees to identify problematic supervisors and different forms of harassment and bullying in the workplace, empower trainees to speak up about mistreatment, and facilitate evaluation of organizational interventions. Emergency services, such as The Red Button at the University of Toronto, can be helpful interventions to support trainees during a crisis.
